A study to assess the knowledge on prevention of coronary artery disease among adults in Dakkilavaripalem, Nellore

Abstract

Abstract: Coronary Artery Disease is the most common type of heart disease. It is one of the leading causes of death in United States in men and women. coronary artery disease occurs when the artery that supplies blood to the heart muscles and it becomes hardened and narrowed. AIM: To assess the knowledge on prevention of Coronary Artery Disease among adults METODOLOGY: A quantitative research approach and descriptive research design was used to assess the prevention of Coronary among 50 audilt in Dakkilivaripalem selected
by non probability convenience sampling technique. Data was collected by using structured questionnaire.The data was analyzed and tabulated by using descriptive and inferential statistics based on objective of the study. RESULTS: The results showed that 14(14%) had B grade and 86(86%) had D grade knowledge regarde prevention of Coronary artery disease. CONCLUSION: The study findings concluded that majority of adults had D grade (very poor) knowledge regarding prevention of CAD.
