Abstract | | | | Lingual thyroid is a rare congenital anomaly of thyroid development resulting from failure of the thyroglossal duct to migrate from the foramen cecum to the prelaryngeal site. Tongue is the most common localisation. We report a 37 year old female patient with lingual thyroid presenting with obstructive and dysphagia symptoms and absence of the normal thyroid gland.
