Wernicke's encephalopathy-two case reports obesite cerrahisi ve tekrarlayan kusmalarla ilişkili 2 wernicke ensefalopatisi olgusu

Abstract

Wernicke's encephalopathy is an acute neuropsychiatric syndrome resulting from thiamine
deficiency, Wernicke encephalopathy is a usually related to chronic alcoholism .Other causes include bariatric surgery, parenteral nutrition, hyperemesis gravidarum, anorexia nervosa, fasting action Early recognition is important because timely thiamine supplementation can reverse the clinical features of the disease.Here we report two patients with thiamin deficiency which is the resultof nutritional deficiency and prolonged vomiting.
