Work related Neck disability due to active myofascial trigger points (MTrPs) in female computer users.

Abstract

Objective: To see work related neck disability due to active myofascial trigger points in female computer users.
Methodology: This cross-sectional study was conducted in which demographic data along pillow height, working hours of participants per week, Visual analogue scale (VAS) and neck disability index (NDI) were used. Total 50 participants were involved in this study with active myofascial trigger points in different muscles of neck.
Result: Participants who had pain from more than 1 year showed mild (30%) and moderate (26%) neck disability, which increased with increased working hours. Those with active myofascial trigger points had mild to moderate level of neck disability. Significant association was found between pillow height and neck pain.
Conclusion: Participants with active myofascial trigger points (MTrPs) in different muscles of neck showed more neck disability as compare to other participant who did not have active trigger points.
