Abstract

PON-1 (aryldialkylphosphatase) is an esterase enzyme synthesized by the liver and released into the serum where it is associated with HDL lipoprotein. This study aimed to detect the distribution of PON1 in ram liver, kidney and rumen in addition to GPx and SOD. PON1 paraoxonase activity was detected in liver (1.740.10), kidney (1.420.04), while it was not detected in rumen. PON1 arylesterase activity was detected in liver (0.260.01), kidney (0.250.02), while it was not detected in rumen. GPx activity was detected in liver (135.92.52), kidney (11.20.42), SOD activity was detected in liver (693.397.58), kidney (676.724.86), while it was not detected in rumen. PON1 is positively correlated to GPx and SOD, while it is negatively correlated to MDA.

Key words: Sheep, PON1, GPx, MDA.
