Effectiveness of art therapy on aggressive behavior among patient with mania admitted in psychiatric ward.

Abstract

Art therapy is sometimes called as creative art therapy or expressive art therapy, which encourages people to express and understand emotions through artistic expression and through the creative process.
The study aims to determine the effectiveness of art therapy on aggressive behavior among patients with mania.
The research design selected for this study is Quasi experimental pretest post test design. The study was conducted in Narayana Medical College Hospital, in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. The patients diagnosed with mania and aggressive behavior admitted in psychiatric ward at Narayana Medical College Hospital were selected by non probability convenience sampling technique. 60 is the sample size for the study.
The art therapy is found to be effective in reducing the aggressive behavior among patients with mania.
