Pregnancy and Peripartum Cardiomyopathy: Case Report

Abstract

Peripartum cardiomyopathy is a disease of unknown etiology. It affects women in the last months of pregnancy or the first few months after delivery. Peripartum cardiomyopathy is characterized by congestive heart failure. In most cases there is no predetermined heart failure or heart disease. In this case report, we aimed to discuss the management of a peripartum cardiomyopathy case developing at the postpartum period.
