Correlation of foot deformities with heredity in children

Abstract


 


Foot deformities constitute one of the most common musculoskeletal pathologies seen in childhood. Early diagnosis and treatment of these deformities is essential in order to prevent the child from more serious problems. Totally 1105 subjects, consisted of 221 randomly chosen students and their close relatives, participated in this study Subjects with foot pathologies secondary to neurologic disorders or muscle inbalance were excluded. Statistical analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between heredity and hallux valgus, pes planus and hindfoot valgus deformities (p
