The Vanishing Twin

Abstract


Women with twin pregnancy have some rare problems and some of them occur more frequently than those seen

in singleton pregnancies. Examples of the former are the vanishing twin and death of other fetus. With the

advent of ultrasonography, a multiple pregnancy may be diagnosed in early stage of gestation. Serial sonographic

evaluations can display the disappearance of one of two twins. One case of a vanishing twin is reported.
