Endoscopic extraction of liver fluke presenting as biliary obstruction with cholangiolar liver abscess mimicking choledocholithiasis

Abstract

Fasciola hepatica is parasite in domestic animals. Humans are accidental host following ingestion of plants or water infested with metacercariae or undercooked liver. A rare case of endoscopic extraction of liver fluke presenting as biliary obstruction with cholangiolar liver abscess is reported in this case report.
