Effect of post facilitation stretch on iliopsoas in the management of chronic mechanical of back

Objective: To determine the effects of post facilitation stretch of iliopsoas in the management of chronic mechanical low back pain.
Methodology: This study included 40 patients of chronic mechanical low back pain more than 3 months and involving the patients having positive Thomas test. Outcome measures were assessed by Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) , Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) and Goniometry of iliopsoas muscle length. Data were analyzed through SPSS 21.
Results: The control value of iliopsoas muscle length session was 98.5±6.25 and experimental group was 1.90±0.6 (p=0.46). The Numerical Pain Rating Scale mean value of control group was 5.4±1.06 and experimental group was 4.4±0.51 (p=0.001). The Oswestry Disability Index mean value of control group was 38.3±9.63 and experimental group was 36.2±7.86 (p=0.48).
Conclusion: Chronic mechanical low back pain patients treated with post facilitation stretch of iliopsoas along with other conventional physiotherapy
