Objective: To examine the relationship of marital status with early maladaptive schemas and quality of life among epileptics.
Methodology: This correlational cross-sectional study was conducted from September 2021 to December 2021 at hospitals and clinics of District Abbottabad and Mansehra. Sample size comprised of 200 patients with epilepsy, selected purposefully. The questionnaire, Urdu version of young schema questionnaire short form (YSQ-SF), Urdu version of WHOQOL-BREF was used.
Result: Unmarried patients with epilepsy suffering from generalized seizure scored higher on early maladaptive schema and low score on quality of life scale. Married patients had high quality of life low score on early maladaptive schema. Female patients had relatively high score on early maladaptive schemas as compared to male patients with epilepsy.
Conclusion: Unmarried’ patients with epilepsy participants from generalized seizure had high scores on early maladaptive schema and having low quality of life as compared to married patients with epilepsy. Female patients experienced more early maladaptive schemas and their quality of life was poor as compared to male patients with epilepsy
