Health related quality of life in patients with coronary artery disease

Abstract

Objective: To find the health related quality of life in coronary artery disease patients.
Methodology: This observational cross-sectional study was conducted among 183 patients taken from The University of Lahore Teaching Hospital, Nawaz Sharif Social Security Hospital and Punjab Institute of Cardiology, Lahore. A standardized questionnaire was used. We analyzed data using SPSS version 25.
Results: Out of 183 patients, 104(56.83%) were male and 79(43.17%) female with a mean age of 59.09±11.779 years (range 37-86). Majority 59 (32.2%) of males were businessman whereas 77(42.1%) females were laborers.
Conclusion: Coronary Artery Disease imposed a great influence on the quality of life. Female laborers reported very poor quality of their lives whereas male businessman had less impaired health-related quality of life.
