C-reactive protein and low density lipoprotein as predictive marker for myocardial infarction

Abstract

Objective: To determine C-reactive protein (CRP) & Low Density Lipoprotein as predictive marker for myocardial infarction.
Methodology: A case-control study was conducted at Department of Medicine and Cardiology, Civil Hospital Matiari and Hala New Hyderabad from January to December 2018. It included 100 subjects with age between 15 to 65 years. Exclusion criteria was subjects suffering from systemic diseases. They were divided into two groups group A (Control) & group B (case study), each having 50 subjects; 50 healthy and 50 diagnosed with myocardial infarction (MI). Serum LDL & CRP were measured by auto analyzer and ELISA kit method, respectively. Results were analyzed by SPSS 16.
