Test anxiety would play a role in tension type headache of children and adolescents: A case-control study

Abstract

Background/Aim: It has been determined in studies that headache, which is a common complaint in childhood, can be closely related to anxiety. Today, where exams are of great importance for children and adolescents, test anxiety may have a place in the etiology of headache. The aim of this study is to determine the relation between tension type headache and test anxiety in children and adolescents.
Methods: Child and adolescents who were diagnosed with tension type headache (n = 65) and healthy group (n = 79) were compared. The Screen for Child Anxiety Related Disorders parent and child forms, Children's Depression Inventory, Children's Test Anxiety Scale, Revised Test Anxiety Scale were administered to both groups. SPSS 17.0 was used for analyses. p
