Scaffolding the Scaffolding: Assisting the Student's Social Emotional Learning at School

Abstract

Scaffolding is the help given by the instructors to provide educational guidance and support to students. This study was conducted to investigate the gap between SEL score of experimental and control group students in post-test and the research question was designed. This study was experimental and used two group pre-test post-test designs. The population was the elementary school students and the sample was one private school elementary level students from district Faisalabad. The sampled students were randomly divided in control group and experimental groups. There were 21 students in each class. The experimental group had given special training for scaffolding their SEL. The adapted questionnaire (SECQ) was used to conduct the pre and post-test of the study. Descriptive and inferential statistics used to analyze the data. Results concluded from the study that SEL plays too much role in studentsÂ’ concept development and to understand the basic terms of various phenomena.
