Sanjeev Rastogi, Ram Harsh Singh.

Abstract

Sickness is the outcome of a defiant and irresponsible behavior, as is recognized by seers of Ayurveda thousands of years ago. Prajyaparadha (committing a mistake knowingly) is presumed to be the master evil and a progenitor of snowball events leading to the multitude of unhealthy propositions. There are suggestive evidences that this sporadic resurgence of the pandemic has an association with erratic, irresponsible, defiant and increased risk taking behavior observed across the globe during the receding 1st wave. Thinking about pragyaparadha or committing the mistakes knowingly as a reason makes a sense in this context.

Key words: Pragyaparadha; Peltzman’s effect ; Pandemic; COVID-19
