A didactic proposal for teaching statistics in administrative careers

Abstract

This paper aims to show that by means of a didactic proposal about the teaching of statistics, it is possible to construct the robust meaning of volatility in a course of inferential statistics for careers in administrative sciences, accounting and financial by using innovative strategies such as gamification and problem solving through Excel simulations;in addition, statistics on important decision-making, in particular in the economic framework, are shown in a practical way, designing pedagogical strategies that make it possible to use important applications through the use of computer-assisted teaching techniques, the construction of abstract statistical and mathematical concepts such as volatility and the metrics that allow their evaluation. This project was carried out at a Colombian university and was applied to students studying inferential statistics in the aforementioned careers.
