Substituted 10-amino-2,3,4,10-tetrahydro-4-oxo-N-arylpyrimido[1,2-a]benzimidazole-2-carboxamides are formed by condensation of 1,2-
diaminobenzimidazole with N-arylmaleimides in isopropyl alcohol in the presence of catalytic amount of acetic acid.
