Quality of life in multiple sclerosis patients: impact of depression and physical limitations?

Abstract

Aim: Quality of life (QOL) may be effected by disability. The aim of the present paper was to evaluate the depression which was common and treatable burden of multiple sclerosis (MS) and the effect of depression on quality of life.

Method: Depression was evaluated in 62 MS patients. Data on health-related QOL (SF-36) was obtained in all MS patients. The results were compared to 24 ages and sex matched healthy controls. Disease related QOL and effects of depression, disability, and disease duration on QOL were evaluated in MS cases.
