The present study was aimed at assessing the level of physical activity among students of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
Methodology: A cross-sectional study was carried out involving 505 participants from UQU, Makkah, Saudi Arabia who participated from different colleges. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short Form was used for data collection. Microsoft Excel and Statistical Package for the Social Sciences were used for the data analysis. A chi-square test was used in assessing the relationship between the participant's physical activity and other variables. A p-value of less than 0.05 was considered as significant.
Results: Among the total subjects, studied concerning the gender, females were found more with a moderate level of activity than males, while more males were involved in low and high levels of physical activities; the result was not significant statistically. Also, considering grade and physical activity, students with excellent grades were found more physically active than students with comparatively satisfactory grades with statistical significance.
