Increased of Platelet Indices in Patients with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

Abstract

Objective: The relationship between platelet activation and psychiatric disorders has been previously investigated by several studies. The aim of the present study was to investigate any probable difference in the platelet indices of patients with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder ADHD.
Methods: The records of a total of 47 children with ADHD (aged 6-16 years), diagnosed using the DSM-V, have been scanned. The study consisted of 47 patients, who were admitted to our hospital, and 50 healthy controls (aged 6-16 years). Platelet indices, including platelet count, MPV, PDW, and PCT levels were retrospectively recorded.
