A STUDY TO ASSESS THE KNOWLEDGE ON PREVENTION OF LUNG CANCER AMONG MEN IN KAMAKSHINAGAR AT NELLORE

Abstract

Abstract: The study aims are to assess the knowledge regarding prevention of lung cancer among adults and to identify the relationship between the knowledge level and socio demographic variables of adults.The quantitative research approach and cross sectional descriptive design was adopted for the study. The study was conducted in selected areas in Nellore. 50 adultswere selected by using Non Probability Convenience Sampling Technique,.Structured Questionnaire was used to collect the information from samples. Data analysis done by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results revealed that regarding level of knowledge on prevention of lung cancer, 1(2%) adults had B+ grade, 2(4%) had B grade, 2(4%) had C grade, and 45(90%) had D grade knowledge.The study concluded that majority of adults had inadequate knowledge regarding prevention of lung cancer. Hence there is a need to educate regarding prevention of lung cancer.
