A new and general method for preparation of C-benzotriazolated nitrones is reported. The reactivity of C-benzotriazolated nitrones is
applied for reaction with Reformatsky reagent in the absence of Lewis acid to produce 2,3-Disubstituted isoxazol-5-ones in good yields.
