SYNTHESIS OF 2-THIOXOQUINAZOLIN-4(1H)-ONES IN WATER AT ROOM TEMPERATURE

Farhad Hatamjafari, Kurosh Rad-Moghadam.

Abstract

Potassium carbonate was found to be an efficient catalyst for synthesis of novel 2-thioxoquinazolin-4(1H)-one derivatives via a one-pot
condensation of isatoic anhydride with primary amines and phenyl isothiocyanate in water at room temperature

Key words: 2-thioxoquinazolin-4(1H)-ones; potassium carbonate catalyst; room temperature three-component reaction; isatoic anhydride; isocyanates
