Knowledge and awareness regarding cervical cancer among the women

Abstract

Abstract: Cervical cancer tends to occur in midlife and is most frequently diagnosed in women between the ages of 35 and 44. It rarely develops in women younger than 20. Many older women do not realize that the risk of developing cervical cancer is still present as they are aged. More than 15% of cases of cervical cancer are found in women over 65. The American Cancer Society’s estimates for cervical cancer in the United States for 2019 are About 13,170 new cases of invasive cervical cancer will be diagnosed. About 4,250 women will die from cervical cancer. Objectives: To assess the level of knowledge regarding cervical cancer among women.  To find association between level of knowledge regarding cervical cancer among women with their demographic variables. Methods: Descriptive research design, 30 women’s were at Venkatachalam, Nellore was selected using with simple random sampling technique, structured questionnaire was used to collected data and descriptive and inferential statistics was used to analyze the data. Results: Regard to level of knowledge on cervical cancer among womens,5 (16.7%) of women’s had good knowledge, 22 (73.3%) of women’s had adequate knowledge and 3 (10%) of women’s had poor
knowledge.
