Abstract | Download PDF | | Post | The aim of this study is to search measles, hepatitis A and malaria prevalance in Aydın during the last 5 years, compare them with national prevalance rates and determine distrubution of these diseases by age and sex. Measles, hepatitis A and malaria cases reported by Form 017 to Provential Health Directorate between January 1999-December 2000 are compared with national prevalance rates. We searched distrubition of these diseases by age and sex. We used descriptive method for this study. Number of measles, hepatitis A and malaria cases were found lower than national levels. This may be because of the location of the city. The most reported disease was hepatitis A in the city. This is followed by measles and malaria respectively. Reported cases for these three diseases decreased at last 5 years in Aydın. Prevalance rates decreased by 17,4 per 100.000 for measles, 3,8 per 100.000 for malaria, 18,2 per 100 000 for hepatitis A. The most important reason of this fall is succesful management of primary care activities.
