VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF THE TURKISH VERSION OF THE RECOVERY ASSESSMENT SCALE İYİLEŞME DEĞERLENDİRME ÖLÇEĞİ’NİN TÜRKÇE FORMUNUN GEÇERLİK VE GÜVENİLİRLİĞİ

Abstract

Objective: Globally, the field of mental health services has begun to evolve towards an improvement-focused approach. A valid and reliable measurement tool is needed to evaluate the subjective recovery process and to improve the recovery-focused care. The purpose of this study was to assess the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Recovery Assessment Scale.
Method: The study was planned as a methodically. The survey included 180 individuals with chronic mental illness registered in two Community Mental Health Centers. For the validity studies, content validity, construct validity and criteria validity, for the reliability studies internal consistency analyzes and time-invariance were used.
Results: The content validity index value of the scale was found to be over 0.80. Consequently the Confirmatory Factor Analysis, the Turkish form of the scale was confirmed as 5 factors and 24 items similar to the original. When criterion-related validity was examined, it was found positive, significant and excellent correlation between the Recovery Assessment Scale and the Psychological Well-Being Scale (r = 0.864, p
