Objective: The Mobility Inventory (ME; Chambless et al.; 1985) assesses the degree to which respondents avoid 26 typical agoraphobic situations, when alone and when accompanied. The aim of this study is to investigate the validity and reliability of Mobility Inventory-Turkish Version.
Method: Mobility Inventory was administered to 92 patients (male=33, female=59) with agoraphobia or panic disorder with agoraphobia. Construct validity was evaluated by factor analysis after the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) and Bartlett test had been performed. To assess the test-retest reliability the inventory was re-applied to 40 participants 30 days later.
Results: To assess construct validity of MI, factor analysis were performed using principal components analysis and varimax rotation. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient for ‘when alone’ and ‘when accompanied’ subscales were 0.93 and 0.90 respectively. MI was found to be stable over an interval of 30 days.
Conclusion: Analysis demostrated that ME-Turkish version had a satisfactory level of reliability and validity.

Key words: Mobility inventory (ME); validity; reliability
