Abstract

The article examines the issues of complications and re-hospitalization of cardiac surgery patients. It was determined that
preoperative risk assessment is crucial for identifying cardiac surgery patients at risk of rehospitalization in the intensive
care unit and hospital mortality. Potentially modifiable risk factors, including but not limited to Chronic Obstructive
Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and preoperative arrhythmia, require optimization of treatment before surgery. Repeated
hospitalization in the intensive care unit is shown as an independent risk factor for in-hospital mortality

Key words: Cardiac surgery,Cardiac surgery,Hospitalization,Possible complications.
