Abstract

Considering the changing scenario of the society, converting traditional dosage forms into more palatable, easily absorbable forms become need of the hour. At the same time, one cannot compromise with the desired therapeutic effects. In the current attempt, it has been attempted to convert Vasa Avaleha into granule form and noticed that changes in the proportions of sharkara, Madhu and Go-ghrita is needed. Double the quantity of Sharkara and 1/5th of Madhu fulfilled all the desired characteristics like fragrance, palatability, and appearance etc. This modified proportion can be considered as standard in preparing granules. As no manufacturing and physico-chemical standards are available for granules of Vasa avaleha, the current findings will serve as standard for future studies.

Key words: Vasa Avaleha, Khanda paka, Granules, Standardization, Palatability.
