Abstract

Vector Borne Infectious Diseases such as Malaria, Dengue, Yellow fever etc. cause a significant
fraction of the global infectious diseases burden indeed nearly half of the world population is infected with
atleast one type of Vector Borne Infectious Pathogen (WHO-2004). Objective: To assess the level of
knowledge and attitude on Vector Borne Disease among household mothers and find out the association
between knowledge and attitude on Vector Borne Disease among household mothers with their selected
demographic variables. Research design: Descriptive research design used for this study. Materials and
Methods: The study was conducted on household mothers at urban area using probability convenient
sampling technique and the sample size was 60. Findings and Counclusion: The overall mean of Vector
Borne Diseases and Urban household mother were 21. 88 ± 3. 21 and 20.23 ± 2.07 respectively. Majority of
household mothers (72%) were having adequate knowledge and the (50%) were having neutreal attitude.
