Professor Paraskev Ivanov Stoyanov is a celebrated Bulgarian doctor, public figure, polymath, founder of the surgery in Bulgaria and a pioneer in Thalassotherapy and Heliotherapy for Bulgarian healthcare. Prof. P. I. Stoyanov was born on January 30, 1871, in the city of Gyurgevo and completed medical specializations in Paris and Geneva.
