In order to reduce the over-dependence on, as well as cost of importation of foreign made automobile maintenance machines, such as the static wheel balancing machine, static automobile wheel balancing machine was designed and fabricated using locally sourced materials. On carrying out the performance evaluation, the machine was able to statically balance wheel tyre weights of 14.63, 14.73, 15.51, 16.92 and 18.76 kg for a period of 3.0, 3.5, 3.9, 4.0 and 5.1 minutes respectively.
