Analysis of acetaminophen, mefenamic acid, sibutramine hydrochloride, and sildenafil citrate

Abstract

Jamu, Indonesia herbal medicines, have long been used for helping heal many diseases. But nowadays, many of jamu were adulterated with chemical drugs that harmful for consumers. Adulterations were analysed in several place excepted in Papua Jayapura. We conducted to analysis jamu which containing acetaminophen, mefenamic acid, sibrutamine hydrochloride, and sildenafil citrate that was contained in jamu. Samples were taken by representing herbal that predicted containing chemicals. Thin Layer Chromatography and UV-Vis Spectrophotometry methods were used for quantitative analysis while determination of concentration were used by titration and UV-Vis Spectrophotometry methods. In this study we reported that there was one sample in herbal medicines containing acetaminophen, three samples mefenamic acid, two samples of slimming herbal contained sibrutamine hydrochloride, and three samples of aphrodisiac herbal contained sildenafil citrates.
