Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the sexual functions of women who are heroin addict.
Methods: The study which was planned as comparative-descriptive and cross-sectional type was done at Prof. Dr. Mazhar OSMAN Mental Health and Neurological Disease Hospital Alcohol and Substance Addiction Treatment Center (AMATEM). The 57 women who applied to AMATEM between June 1st, 2014 and December 31, 2014 and diagnosed with substance addicted according to DSM-V and were included in substance addicted group. The healthy female relatives of 79 female patients who applied to the Gynecology Clinic of the same hospital at same dates were included in healthy group. The data were collected through the interview form, Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI).
Results: No difference was determined between the participants in both groups in terms of average age, period of education, body mass index, working and economic situation (p> .05). It was determined that 70.4% of the women who used heroin had a sexual problem in comparison with the healthy group and 71.9% of them were not satisfied with their sexual life.
