Medical Hypnosis – A Poorly Understood Therapeutic Modality

Abstract

It would be difficult to find a subject, which is more controversial and poorly understood, than hypnosis in the entire Medical field. This controversy related to the medical use of hypnosis has had a convoluted rout and history, since the time of Franz Mesmer in 1765, to the time in 1953, when British Medical Association issued a report, which supported its beneficial role in certain conditions/illnesses
