Abstract
Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) is a well established supportive treatment for acute kidney injury in pediatric intensive care unit, knowing it is basic aspects allows for a more integral and rational approach to therapy, making this therapeutic option a more adapted treatment to each patient´s indications and keeping in mind that different strategies may be used in the same child, depending on the clinical situation and the changes that may present throughout the clinical course. Likewise, knowledge of intrinsic or extrinsic patient variables which may affect the longevity of the filter and circuit, mechanical problems associated with it is use, as well as the effectiveness of the therapy, will allow an integral approach and achievement of the proposed goals and future developments.
