Low back pain among the barbers of Lahore, Pakistan

Abstract

Objective: To determine the frequency of lower- back pain among barbers of Lahore, Pakistan.
Methodology: in this cross-sectional study, a questionnaire collected data from the barbers of Lahore using simple convenient technique. Visual analogue scale was used for intensity of pain. Data were analyzed using SPSS software.
Results: Low back pain among barbers/dressers of Lahore was found 118(61.1%) out of 193 subjects. Hair dressers had mild pain in 68(57.8%), moderate 49(41.5%) and severe in 1(0.8%).
Conclusion: The frequency of lower-back pain among barbers was high.
