TRANSSACROCOCCYGEAL NEUROLYTIC GANGLION IMPAR IN VULVA CARCINOMA: A CASE REPORT

Abstract

Introduction: Ganglion impar block is used to overcome chronic perineal pain problem. The ganglion block has been used to treat perineal pain or severe perianal pain. This case report presents the success of ganglion impar blocks in patients with vulvar cancer experiencing chronic pain and fail to use pharmacological therapy.
Method: We reported a 72-year female patient who was diagnosed with vulvar carcinoma and experienced chronic pain. The pharmacological therapy taken cannot reduce the pain
Result: Ganglion Impar Neurolysis used alcohol with transsacrococygeal technique. VAS decreased and there were no any complications.
Conclusion: The ganglion impar block is an effective therapy for perineal pain treatment of the patients with malignant vulvar cancer. Other treatment modalities including pharmacotherapy, psychological counseling and physical therapy will optimize better management for the patients.
