Acute aphasia complicating typhoid fever

Abstract

A 13 years old Malay boy with typhoid fever presented with high grade fever associated with myalgia and arthralgia. While in ICU, he developed slurred speech with myoclonic jerk. CT scan of the brain reported multiple small infarctions. This case highlights an unusual neurological complication of typhoid fever.
