Nadiyah M AlAbdallah, Mohammed O Basalah, Shahira S Roushdy.

Abstract

Abstract Nowadays the main task of scientist is to find natural ways of improving plant productivity that lead to environmentally friendly agriculture. Biofertilizers have a great potential to achieve this aim. In the present investigation Ulva compressa and Enteromorpha intestinalis (green algae) , Sargassum muticum and Cystoseira amentacea (brown algae) and an inorganic fertilizer(NPK) were studied separately to investigate their effect on growth , photosynthetic pigments , protein , proline contents and some antioxidant enzymes of Vigna unguiculata plants grown in different NaCl concentrations. Results show increase in all growth parameters ,total pigments , protein , proline contents and some antioxidant enzymes as SOD and CAT activities compared with unfertilized salt stress Vigna plants. All of the above fertilizers gave positive results but green algae gave the highest stimulatory effect.

Key words: biofertilizers , inorganic fertilizer , salinity ,Vigna unguiculata antioxidant
