Toxicopathological Study of Penicillium citrinum Culture Filtrate in Wistar Rats

Abstract
Sub acute toxicity study of the culture filtrate of P. citrinum isolated from fungal contaminated, common meadow grass (Poa paratensis) was carried out in rats. This grass was being used as a livestock forage crop in many parts of the country especially in semi arid regions and was suspected to be responsible for many livestock ailments. Materials and Methods: The Wistar rats were gavaged with culture filtrate at the dose rate of 0.5,1 and 2 ml/100g daily for 28 days.
