Objective: This study was organized to examine the childhood traumatic experiences and to determine sociodemographic factors affecting this, in adolescents with a low income level, in Ankara.
Method: Adolescents (n: 1007, 14-18 years old) without health problem that attended to Pediatrics Policlinics between April 2013-July 2014 were included in the investigation. Childhood Trauma Questionnaire with high validity and reliability was used to determine the abuse experiences in children and adolescents younger than 18 years. Besides, Personal Information Form was used to collect data about sociodemographic characteristics. Adolescents were asked to answer honestly and intimately and were promised to keep their answers confidential. High scores obtained from the scales were considered unfavorable.
