Knowledge and awareness level among the Saudi population regarding sitz bath benefits in postoperative anorectal patients

Objective:
This study aimed to assess the level of awareness and knowledge about the benefits of warm sitz baths for postoperative anorectal patients among the general population in Saudi Arabia.
Methods:
A cross-sectional study involving 1,010 participants was conducted using an online questionnaire. Data about participants’ demographics, sources of information about the water bath, reasons for abstention from water baths after anorectal surgery, and knowledge regarding sitz baths were collected.
Results:
Most participants (83.5%) were females, and 69.8% were 18- 30 years old. Of them, 54.4% were familiar with sitz baths, 27.5% received information from healthcare professionals, 83% believed in the benefits of sitz baths for postoperative anorectal care, and 14.4% used them. Age (p
