Background: Using a miniscrew implant (MSI) as skeletal anchorage is common in orthodontics. Locating the correct site of insertion of this MSI is essential. Objective: This article describes a simple guide supported by cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) radiography and leading to a successful positioning of the MSI. Methods: In order to avoid any damage in the site of insertion of the MSI, we suggest a guide fabricated on a replica model and examined through CBCT radiograph to decide the precise location. This guide with its 3D information is then used during the MSI placement. Conclusion: This simplified method is safe and precise allowing the practitioner to successfully place a self-drilling MSI. Keywords: Self-drilling miniscrew, radiographic guide, cone-beam computer tomography, orthodontic mini implant.
