In vivo anti-inflammatory activity of the hydro-ethanolic extract of Adansonia digitata leaves

Background:
Adansonia digitata, a plant of the Bombacaceae family is frequently used in traditional African medicineto treat various inflammatory conditions.

Aim:
This study aimed to evaluate the anti-inflammatory activity of a dry hydro-ethanolic extract of leaf powder(ADF), reconstituted with physiological water.

Methods:
The in vivo model of carrageenan-induced rat paw edema method is used. The rats received the extract at a dose of 10 mg/kg, while acetylsalicylic acid (10 mg/kg) was used as a reference, and the physiological water (1 ml/100g) was used as a control.
