Abstract

This publication compiles the abstracts presented at the 20th Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), UCTH Chapter, held in Calabar, Cross River State, in December 2024. The collection features oral and poster presentations spanning key areas of clinical and public health relevance, including antimalarial drug discovery, substance use among undergraduates, paediatric sickle cell anaemia outcomes, prostate health, fire safety preparedness, infectious disease awareness, and complex surgical case reports. Also included is a narrative review on the environmental impact of cataract surgery.
