Objective: To assess the knowledge and awareness about polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) among women of the Hail region.
Methodology: This cross-sectional study was conducted from September 2024 to February 2025 and included504 women from Hail, Saudi Arabia. We used convenience sampling. A validated, structured questionnaire was used and digitized on Google Forms. Survey responses were analysed using SPSS version 27. We performed chi-square tests to compare categorical variables and multiple logistic regression analysis to identify the study's significant predictors of PCOS knowledge.
Results: Only 33.9% of the participants had good knowledge about PCOS, whereas 66.1% had poor knowledge. Age, marital status, occupation, and the participants' knowledge level were significantly associated. Healthcare workers, patients with PCOS, and those who knew someone with PCOS had good knowledge.
Conclusion: There is a need to increase knowledge and awareness about PCOS among women in Hail so that early diagnosis and intervention can lead to a better quality of life and reduce complications.
