Josipa Kern.

Abstract

The electronic health record (EHR) should be the system enabling an integral view to patient data and his/her health status, or it should integrate all the levels of health system – primary, secondary and tertiary health level. As such system of EHR should be the basis of the integrated health information system (HIS). Development of the Croatian HIS started with primary health care, more precisely with GP offices. HIS is based on international standard HL7, centralized, and partially certified. Evaluation of current status of HIS is under development.

Key words: health information system, primary health care
